pregnancy recap, weeks 28-32

like I did with baby boy Luca, I’ll be doing monthly pregnancy recaps to document the progress of this pregnancy and hopefully relate to some of you who are pregnant as well or interested in becoming pregnant! in this week’s recap, I’ll be recapping week 28, 29, 30, 31, and 32. I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant. the recap, weeks 28 - 32 this is the "sh*t's getting real" stage. it's the stage when you realize you're less than 2 months away from meeting your little baby and that means you're extra tired, your belly is big and heavy, and your to-do list is suddenly a mile long. for me, weeks 30-35 are really when I get totally ready for the baby, meaning, I...

Favorite online stores to shop for maternity clothes

[Above: Dress / Purse / Shoes / Earrings] Let's be honest. Who has the time and/or patience to go to the store, shift through the racks, settle into a fitting room, get undressed, dressed, undressed, and dressed again, only to be disappointed when something isn't in your size and you're told, "Oh, we can order it online for you!" NOT ME! I've been shopping online for 95% of my wardrobe for a few years now and now, as a mother to a toddler, it's probably up to 99%. I just never go shopping! If I go shopping, it's for a special occasion (I most recently went to try on coverups for our babymoon to Miami.) Enter pregnancy into this equation and it's...

Packing for our Miami Babymoon

Lu and I have decided to take a long weekend trip to Miami as our "babymoon," our final trip just the two of us before baby girl arrives. With Luca, we went all out and did a big 10-day babymoon to Hawaii (recap here) and later on a mini weekend trip to Bermuda, too. Ahhhh, the childless life back then! I take all of my relationships in life seriously - my friendships, my marriage, my sisterhood, and being a daughter. For my marriage, it's so important for us to have alone time without Luca. It allows us to reconnect, speak to each other about things other than the baby, and have an adventure together, without our child. It's always rejuvenating and...

pregnancy recap, weeks 24-27

like I did with baby boy Luca, I’ll be doing monthly pregnancy recaps to document the progress of this pregnancy and hopefully relate to some of you who are pregnant as well or interested in becoming pregnant! in this week’s recap, I’ll be recapping week 24, 25, 26, and 27. I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant. the recap, weeks 24 - 27 I am officially in my third trimester now! this is what I like to call the, "shit gets real" stage. you start to get physically uncomfortable and much larger, the pains and aches begin, the exhaustion slowly creeps back in, and you realize, oh, yes, a baby's coming - and soon! luckily, along with all the not-so-fun stuff (the aches and pains), comes...

pregnancy recap, weeks 18 – 23

like I did with baby boy Luca, I’ll be doing monthly pregnancy recaps to document the progress of this pregnancy and hopefully relate to some of you who are pregnant as well or interested in becoming pregnant! in this week’s recap, I’ll be recapping week 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23. I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant. the recap, weeks 18 - 23 I can't believe how quickly six weeks have flown by! this trimester is basically all about getting that bump, and I definitely popped around week 21. while I started "showing" earlier than I did with Luca, that leveled out, and I don't really feel much bigger than I did with Luca. also, since my first pregnancy wasn't high-risk and I...

My current workout routine: 21 weeks pregnant

I receive a lot of questions about my workout routine. If you follow me on Instagram, then you've noticed that I workout pretty regularly and consistently. Working out gives me energy, clears my mind, is healthy for my heart and body, and most importantly, feels good - there's nothing better than an endorphin release! Long before I became pregnant with Luca, I always used to think it was shocking when women worked out while pregnant. It looked "wrong", like these women shouldn't be pushing themselves in their delicate state. Then, when I became pregnant with Luca, I realized that there's nothing delicate about pregnancy, ha! All jokes aside, our bodies are strong and are meant to carry children. My OB-GYN put...

pregnancy recap, weeks 13-18 (baby girl)

like I did with baby boy Luca, I’ll be doing monthly pregnancy recaps to document the progress of this pregnancy and hopefully relate to some of you who are pregnant as well or interested in becoming pregnant! in this week’s recap, I’ll be recapping week 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17. I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant. the recap, weeks 13 - 18 I knew people used to say that you "pop" more quickly with the second pregnancy than you do with the first, but I guess I didn't really think much of it, until I became pregnant for the second time. WOW. I was comparing photos of myself at this stage with Luca and what they say is true. my belly is growing...

We’re pregnant! First Trimester Recap, Baby Two!

surprise, surprise, we're pregnant (again)! as one of three children in my family and for Lu, as one of four children in his family, we always knew we wanted more than one child, if we were blessed enough. how many children? let's get through #2 and see how it goes! most of my friends who have more than two children say that going from 1 to 2 is much harder than going from 2 to 3 or even 3 to 4. they say you go from knowing how to handle a child and you've nailed down your routine and schedule and then the new baby just throws everyone for a loop. we're definitely nervous, but like with the first baby, we're...
